Erin Kampelman GAMCO’s™ Principles of Math Released for Windows 7 and Mac OS XSt. Louis, Missouri, April 13, 2010 – This week GAMCO, a division of Orchard Learning, announced the highly anticipated release of its award-winning math program, Principles of Math, for Windows 7 and Mac OS X. Based on the work of noted mathematics educator Dr. John Van de Walle, Principles of Math combines the strategies critical to the development of basic computational skills and mathematical thinking for grades pre-K through third grade with dynamic, engaging instruction, practice and application. The program’s unique interactive environment helps students gain a truer understanding of skills by allowing them to work with online manipulatives such as cubes and rods. Educators rave about the program’s remedial version with age appropriate graphics for older learners, special ed, Title I, ELL and other students that are below grade level. Skills covered in Principles of Math include counting, quantity, and single and multi-digit computations and are aligned to the NCTM Process and Content Standards.
